Studying history helps children to make sense of the world in which they live, and builds awareness and understanding of the effect of past events on the present. Throughout EYFS, children have the opportunity to talk about past and present events in their own lives and in the lives of family members. Within KS1 we aim to develop a sense of enquiry without prejudice, into all aspects of history. Historical skills such as sequencing and using sources and artefacts to provide evidence are developed throughout the curriculum.
